Kind of a simplistic menu this week…we’re leaving Wednesday afternoon to visit my family for the Thanksgiving holiday!

Saturday: cornmeal breaded whitefish, macaroni and cheese, green beans

Sunday: take-out

Monday: steak, steamed broccoli, pasta

Tuesday: spaghetti with garlic bread; salad

Wednesday: grab something on the road!

Thursday: TURKEY DAY!

Friday: leftovers from turkey day 🙂

Saturday: Soup night with friends! I made zuppa toscana, but we also had crab vegetable, chili, assorted breads, meat/cheese tray appetizer, pumpkin cheesecake bars and apple spice cake. 🙂

Sunday: homemade stromboli – one veggie, one meat

Monday: steak, steamed broccoli, pasta

Tuesday: 20-clove garlic chicken, garlic rice pilaf, cauliflower

Wednesday: kuldunai for the husband – it’s his birthday and that’s what he wants!

Thursday: leftover garlic chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans

Friday: BLT’s and chips….and having friends over in the evening for cake and make-your-own-sundae bar for hubby’s birthday!

We’re a bit overrun with jalapenos and tomatoes over here, so  I incorporated a few recipes this week to try to tackle some of the masses!

Saturday: pan-fried chicken, cheddar grits/polenta, green beans

Sunday: venison roast (on the grill), cheese-stuffed, bacon wrapped, grilled jalapenos (garden)

Monday: steak, broccoli, pasta

Tuesday: leftover fried chicken, stuffed tomatoes (garden)

Wednesday: lasagna for two, salad

Thursday: fish tacos with baja cream, mexican jasmine rice, black beans

Friday: cheddar brats (grill), corn (garden), oven fries

Saturday: grilled venison, corn on the cob, tomato/cucumber salad (from the garden) and baked potatoes


  • Made rice for fried rice tomorrow

Sunday: chicken fried rice, crab and cheese wontons…also making these wontons for DH to take to work Monday


  • Cooked chicken for fried rice ahead of time
  • Cooked bacon and froze it for later this week
  • Mixed up the spice rub for pulled pork
  • Thawed steak for tomorrow

Monday: steak, cauliflower, pasta

Tuesday: leftover fried rice and crab and cheese wontons

Wednesday: pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw

Thursday: BLT’s (with homemade bread and garden tomatoes!), macaroni and cheese

Friday: leftover pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans (which had been frozen from my last batch)

A bit boring around here on the menu front this week….but to be honest, it’s so damn hot I can’t bring myself to be creative. I just want to lounge. With mint iced tea. In the a/c, with a fan going. And maybe read a book.

That sounds perfect. 🙂

Saturday: no plan. we haven’t eaten out in ages b/c we’re trying to save money…but maybe a little something this night

Sunday: ILs over for crabs and corn (burgers + potatoes for my FIL)…or homemade pizza as a backup (ham + pineapple)

Monday: steak, steamed cauliflower, pasta

Tuesday: lasagna for two (from the freezer); salad; garlic bread

Wednesday: grilled buttermilk chicken, grilled potatoes + herbs, garlic green beans (from my garden)

Thursday: either the pizza scheduled as backup for Sunday, or, mahi mahi filets, wild rice, broccoli

Friday: leftover chicken from Thursday, macaroni and cheese, cucumber salad (from my garden)

Sunday: leftover venison burgers from last week; oven fries; sliced fresh cucumber…also making funfetti cookies (by request) for a co-worker’s birthday tomorrow

Did some prep:

  • sliced all veggies for the weekly lunches and salad; cleaned the green beans; chopped the cauliflower and broccoli
  • mixed and cooked the chicken meatballs
  • cooked off bacon for the beans later this week

Monday: beef steaks, steamed broccoli, pasta

Tuesday: chicken meatball subs, salad

Wednesday: grilled pork chops, annie’s macaroni and cheese, cauliflower

Thursday: leftover chicken meatball subs, green beans…making baked beans to take with me to the reunion

Friday: none – travelling to Butler for my family reunion/see everyone

Saturday: who knows — in Butler

Sunday: probably take-out on the road as we’re driving home!
